SOLIDWORKS Part Reviewer: Dolphin Model

Dolphin: This model demonstrates the use of some of the fundamental surface modeling techniques. It is modeled exclusively with surface body features. It has two sketch pictures to act as “napkin sketches”. There are two configurations with different poses created by a flex feature. There are multiple examples of surface boundaries, lofts and fills. There is an example of angled plane to create the side flippers. Time saving techniques are sprinkled throughout the part.

Other commands used in the model include: Revolved Surface, Surface Trim, Surface Knit, Thicken, Face Fillet and Mirror.

Complexity: Moderate
