SOLIDWORKS Part Reviewer: Blow Molded Bottle Part 1 Tutorial

preform bottleBlow Molded Bottle Part 1 – The Preform: This is a model of an injection molded preform which will be heated and blow molded into a bottle. Undercuts are removed from the threads so the part can be injection molded in a simpler tool. Since the neck and threads are common between different bottle SKUs, the threaded area is created as a stand-alone part that gets inserted into a new part as the first step in modeling the preform. This both simplifies modeling new preforms and prevents any inadvertent changes to the threads that could prevent the cap from getting screwed onto the bottle. Be sure to check back this weekend for the second part to this assembly!
