SOLIDWORKS Part Reviewer: Knurling Tutorial
Knurling: There are sixteen total configurations with four different diameters and different pitch sizes in this part. Four different Knurl Diameters are provided to start off with (.375, .500, .875 and 1.000). Each Diameter has its own Sub-Configurations conforming to American Standard ANSI/ASME B94.6-1984 for Knurling. Each Sub-Configuration is driven by a Design Table which offers all four different Diametral Pitches (64, 96, 128 and 160). The higher the Diametral Pitch, the more ‘Teeth’ are knurled around the Part. When switching between configurations of a model with complex pattern geometry it can be slow. This part demonstrates an option called “Add Rebuild/Save Mark” to speed up rebuild times when switching configurations.
