Allmand Bros. accelerates parts manual development with 3DVIA Composer
I wanted to provide some more information on one of the customers profiled in the press release we issued on 3DVIA Composer V6R2011x.
Nebraska-based Allmand Brothers Inc. might not be a household name, like the similar sounding band, but the products they make are familiar to all of us. Allmand Bros. manufactures a complete line of light towers, compact loader backhoes, light stands, and trailer-mounted arrow boards. You’ve probably seen their products in use on road construction projects.
While the company has consistently developed and delivered quality equipment for highway work crews, keeping its parts manuals up to date was always a challenge. That’s until Technical Illustrator Shane Staggs got his hands on 3DVIA Composer software. Using this tool, Shane and Drafting Manager Roger Kelso transformed the manufacturer’s documentation effort, eliminating a parts manual backlog while improving the quality of documentation materials. According to Shane, “in the past, there were times when these manuals were a couple days behind. Now with 3DVIA Composer, we are getting them out on-time, even with updates and changes.”
The effort was so successful that Quality Assurance Engineer Kevin Robinson decided to use the software to create assembly instruction animations and automate manufacturing.
