Direct Editing Features on an Imported Part: The features used on this part are advanced commands that can help you when cleaning up or modifying imported model geometry. Some of the techniques shown here might also help you to pass the more advanced SOLIDWORKS certification tests. Knowing how to direct edit imported models can save time in avoiding rework and also help you repair bad geometry. This Imported STEP Model uses a series of Direct Editing Features including “Delete Face” and “Move Face”. Move/Copy (Body) is used to reorient the model to line it up with respect to the default planes. Unwanted chamfers are removed using two different techniques; Delete Face and Face Fillet. All three options are shown for the powerful “Move Face” Command
