Hello to all,

  2. How can I have a list of modified components (only) using ‘Reload from Server’ command when working on large assembly opened from 3DEXPERIENCE platform?

1. Custom PDF template for SOLIDWORKS Composer

– Richie More

By Default, SOLIDWORKS Creates PDF files using Standard Template. Do note that the user may require the customized PDF output. While publishing the composer document as a PDF file, user can select custom template as mentioned below.

Prerequisites –

  • PDF editor (Adobe Acrobat)
  • You can use an application such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint to create the template theme and then open the document in Adobe Acrobat to convert to PDF.

Steps to create Custom Template for Composer –

  1. Launch Adobe Acrobat and open the existing Microsoft Word / PowerPoint document, or a new PDF document.
  2. Navigate to Tools > Rich Media > Add Button.
  3. Create the Button in viewport, which will act as the Composer document viewport.
  4. Rename the button name as ‘SeemageReplace’
  5. Save the PDF template.

The PDF template should appear as below.

Once a project is published with the template, the result would appear as below.

2. How can I have a list of modified components (only) using ‘Reload from Server’ command when working on large assembly opened from 3DEXPERIENCE platform?

– Vinod KALE

Reload from Server command is used to fetch the most recent version of a file from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Until 3DEXPERIENCE R2025 GA version, you had to use this command from 3DEXPERIENCE task pane only. Effective with the release of 3DEXPERIENCE R2025 FD01, you can use this command from SOLIDWORKS as well. For that, open any file from platform in SOLIDWORKS Connected, go to File and select Reload.

The below images shows the transformation of Reload dialog used in previous (R2025 GA) and current version (R2025 FD01) of 3DEXPERIENCE.

If you’re working on files that are saved to 3DEXPERIENCE, the Reload command will display a Reload from Server button as shown in new Reload dialog.

Benefits: The advantage of using the Reload from server command from SOLIDWORKS reload dialog is – Along with reload options, it provides you the list of modified components as well as all components available in the assembly. Refer the below image.
