SOLIDWORKS Tech Tip – Using the Part Splitter

Sometimes when setting up a render, you’ll want to change the color of a specific part, only to find out that part is combined with another part. Instead of taking it back to your CAD software to split the parts, instead use the integrated Part Splitting Tool in Visualize! The Part Splitter is perfect for separating multiple meshes that imported as one part or pulling out a section of a mesh so that a separate appearance can be applied to it. In this week’s Visualize Quick Tip, we’ll walk you through how to use the Part Splitter to speed up your workflow and edit your geometry directly within Visualize.
