SOLIDWORKS World 2019 Day Three General Session Recap
Six million SOLIDWORKS users worldwide are leading the charge of a great cultural renaissance centered on business, technology, and design. Today was all about the incredible community of SOLIDWORKS users and the amazing products they create every day.
Three specific stories from the worlds of art, education and makers led off the day’s events. This included using 3D CAD in the creation of sculptures and the 3D Printing Nerd’s ability to solve everyday problems with some 3D printing know-how.

No user-focused session would be completed without recognition of Certified SOLIDWORKS users. With 169 new users certified at #SWW19, the grand total of Certified SOLIDWORKS users has now reached more than 330,000. Many of these users also take part in the SOLIDWORKS User Group Network, SWUGN, which is the place to network, learn, and hone your professional skills at onsite meetings around the world, as well as the annual online SLUGME event.
A new approach to user stories was featured in the 3DEXPERIENCE Pitch competition. Three startups, SparkCharge, Skelmet, and Rize, were tasked with pitching a panel of expert judges and the audience for bragging rights and a chance to enter the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab Accelerator.
Finally, professional athlete and astronaut, Leland Melvin, shared an inspiring session on the importance of education, mentorship, and perseverance to reaching your goals and helping others work toward a brighter future. It’s a must-listen-to presentation.
Thank you for another great SOLIDWORKS World!
