DriveWorks 16 Released
DriveWorks design automation and sales configurator software brings together engineering and sales teams to allow manufacturing companies to offer customisable and configurable 3D products as part of their digital strategy. This is often referred to as ‘configure, price and quote’ (CPQ).
A DriveWorks configurator uses rules in the background to automate SOLIDWORK 3D CAD – this means it generates all the sales and 3D manufacturing data quickly and accurately. This ultimately helps companies to be more competitive and win more orders.
Enhancements and New Functionality Added
Our latest release, DriveWorks 16, was released on April 25th. In addition to new 3D web-based functionality, the release themes are performance, scalability and usability. In DriveWorks 16 we’ve built on our extensive Design Automation capabilities, greatly enhanced our 3D capabilities and made sure DriveWorks is positioned as a powerful configurator and CPQ solution company-wide, for manufacturing companies of all sizes.
With so many companies worldwide using DriveWorks, many of the enhancements and new features in DriveWorks 16 have come from customer suggestions. Collectively the functionality in the latest release allow users to create even more compelling DriveWorks product configurators that incorporate 3D in a browser, layout mode within the SOLIDWORKS environment or in a browser, and an under the hood dashboard as part of their CPQ experience.
A First Look at DriveWorks 16
Customers and resellers who joined us at DriveWorks World 2018, our annual value-added technical event for DriveWorks users, were the first to see and use DriveWorks 16.
Glen Smith, DriveWorks’ CEO, hosted three exclusive presentations where he discussed the new features and enhancements. He also explained how we create sample projects using DriveWorks, to test out new functionality and trial how it can be applied. Two members of our team played a game of 3D battleships live on stage, to show off real-time server updates automatically pushed to the browser.
Glen finished the session by showing everyone performance enhancements and scaling we’ve made for configuring 3D products as part of a layout in a browser on any modern device.
