SolidWorks World 2014 Partner Spotlight: NVIDIA
Every year in the weeks leading up to SolidWorks World, we give attendees a chance to learn about some of our Solution Partners attending the event and setting up booths in the Partner Pavilion. Our partners play a big role in making the event great every year, and they always come with some of the newest technology and tools that help make SolidWorks users more productive. Now through January 26, we’re giving some of these partners a chance to let attendees know what they can expect–in their own words. Today we hear from NVIDIA.

NVIDIA develops and markets visual computing technology, from chip level all the way up to complete systems. Founded in the mid-1990s in Silicon Valley, NVIDIA is the inventor of the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). NVIDIA’s technology is used in smart phones, tablets, PCs, workstations, supercomputers, and even automobile infotainment systems. NVIDIA is best known for its Quadro professional and GeForce consumer GPU product lines which accelerate and add visual clarity to professional applications such as SolidWorks and consumer video games, respectively.
In addition to the Quadro Kepler GPUs for design professionals, NVIDIA has recently introduced the GRID Visual Computing Appliance (VCA) which enables remote operation of your design applications without sacrificing graphics performance. We sell and support our GRID VCA systems through the SolidWorks reseller channel.
Quadro GPUs enable SolidWorks users to improve their overall performance when working with large assemblies, and when working with shaded images with edges turned on. This helps designers and engineers be more productive as they use SolidWorks. The GRID VCA enables SolidWorks users to run SolidWorks from virtually any place at any time with a lightweight Windows, Linux, or MacOS client. The VCA delivers the equivalent graphics performance of a Quadro K5000 over a local network, while making your IT department very happy with more security, company IP protection, and fewer software installs and updates.
