SOLIDWORKS Part Reviewer: Sheet Metal Tetrapod Leg Tutorial
Sheet Metal Tetrapod Leg: The leg is revolved coincident to the origin. The 3D sketch calculates the required angle to revolve the legs and calculate the intersection between the bodies. The remaining legs do not need to be patterned at the odd angle calculated by 3D Layout Sketch – the pattern for these uses the 120° we originally expect for all of the patterned legs. The Thicken Command ensures that all edges are 90° to the main conical face to ensure that it’s a proper sheet metal part.
