SolidWorks Part Reviewer: Army Knife Assembly

Army Knife Assembly: This assembly might bring back some good memories of simpler times.

This assembly has 10 unique parts(13 total) in this utility knife assembly. The knife has seven different tools and includes a key ring. There are three different assembly configurations, Open, Closed, and Free to show the range of motion of all different tools.

The Base part is a multi-body solid part with 10 different pieces. The cork screw has a Helical Sweep and has two Lofts, including a Centerline Loft. The saw blade has examples of surface and solid Lofts, Linear Patterns and a surface cut.

Several other parts show examples swept cuts and some revolve cuts to create the sharp blade edges. There are few examples of the powerful but easy to use “Delete Face” command. A few parts show the use of angled reference planes to create geometry.  Most of tool parts show some kind of unique geometry that might come up in some of your designs.
