3DEXPERIENCE Academy Inauguration French Consulate in Naples Italy

On October 8, 2024, the 3DEXPERIENCE Academy was officially inaugurated at the Chambre (CCI France Italia) at the headquarters of the French Consulate in Naples, Italy.

The 3DEXPERIENCE Academy is a joint initiative between Dassault Systèmes, our partner and reseller, CSP (Cad Solution Provider). and the University of Naples Federico II created to train highly specialized skills in CAD & PLM technologies.

The Event in Naples, Italy
The inaugural event aimed to present to local businesses and academics the activities carried out during the first edition of the 3D EXPERIENCE Academy, dedicated to the “Training of Experts in Computer-Aided Design and Product Life Cycle Management”. The project aimed to train professionals specialized in computer-aided design for the engineering sector, responding to the needs of companies that use Dassault Systèmes solutions.

The start of the works was marked by the speech of the Consul General of France in NaplesLise Moutoumalaya, and the Councilor for Professional Training of the Campania regionArmida Filippelli: both expressed strong appreciation for the project, underlining the value of collaboration between higher education and research institutions and local companies to promote innovation and training.

Following this, the speech of Marco Pisano, Director Public Sector at Dassault Systèmes, highlighted the intent to offer students a practical and tangible opportunity by allowing them to directly experiment with Dassault Systèmes’ advanced technologies, considered essential for engineers and technical professionals, as they allow them to operate collaboratively and design using innovative tools.

The Training Path

Giuseppe Di GironimoProfessor at the University of Naples Federico II, then illustrated the entire project, based on a theoretical-practical method, had a total duration of 12 weeks: 480 hours of training, 240 hours of classroom and 240 hours of internship in the company at the project partner companies Dassault Systèmes SRL ItalyCadland Academy and the other companies in the Campania region: Abete srlRobosan srl and Accenture Italia. The educational itinerary combined basic theoretical courses on design methodologies and PLM, practical application courses on the 3DEXPERIENCE EDU Platform, Dassault Systèmes Certifications and Project Work activities carried out in collaboration with the host companies.

Eight young graduates from Unina took part in the initiative, actively present at the event and presented their projects carried out in the company.

Round Table

During the last part of the event, a round table was held with the participation of important managerial figures from the Campania industry and beyond, such as Luigi CarrinoPresident of the Board of Directors of DAC (Italian Aerospace District)Claudio PezzulloCOO and GM Italy at ALA spaPasquale RovitoHead of R&D and Head of Digital Transition, EAVSilvano JolyDirector at Deloitte ConsultingGiovanni AbeteCEO of Abete srl and Prof. Antonio LanzottiDirector of Fraunhofer JL IDEAS Lab in Naples.

The speakers discussed the importance of skills in the current context and how these are essential to address market challenges. Carrino concluded by underlining that technology and skills are evolving rapidly. He highlighted the need for continuous work to integrate universities and partners, as Dassault Systemès, and he praised this initiative as the right approach to facilitate growth and innovation in the sector, creating synergies between education and business practice.

Conclusion 

The inauguration of the 3DEXPERIENCE Academy marks a significant step towards the development of specialized skills in the field of computer-aided design and product lifecycle management. Thanks to the collaboration between academic institutions, companies and partners such as Dassault Systèmes and CSP, an innovative training opportunity has been created, with a practical and theoretical approach that prepares young professionals for the challenges of the modern market.
