Engineering Simulation – Your Way with SOLIDWORKS and Abaqus Technology
Engineering students need to learn advanced tools to support their designs. From structural analysis and computational fluid dynamics to injection molding simulation and advanced, cloud-enabled capabilities powered by Abaqus, SOLIDWORKS® and 3DEXPERIENCE® Works Simulation provide integrated analysis tools for every student that wants to be a designer, engineer, or analyst.
For the SOLIDWORKS Educator and Academic Researcher, SOLIDWORKS for PC comes with a collection of tools with SOLIDWORKS Simulation for structural and thermal analysis (FEA/FEM), SOLIDWORKS Motion for kinematic analysis and SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation for computational fluid dynamics. Thousands of engineers use SOLIDWORKS Simulation tools everyday.
Dassault Systèmes brings additional simulation technology to the SOLIDWORKS user. Educators and Researchers can also obtain 3DEXPERIENCE Engineer featuring Abaqus technology with cloud storage of both data and analysis results and Abaqus for PC. Offers include Electro-Magnetics Simulation with CST Studio Suite and Antenna Magus Learning Editions.
Our commercial customers use these simulation tools to explore new technologies and create products – faster. One company that is using SOLIDWORKS and Abaqus technology to do so is QARGOS,
QARGOS founders Alok Das and Pranav Shinde introduced their company and their innovative designs on stage at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2024. The Modeling and Simulation (MODSIM) approach on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform helped QARGOS develop their own revolution in logistics operations.
Pranav showed us how he went from FSAE Lincoln in 2013 as a student to a founder of QARGOS at 3DXW24. He also illustrated how Abaqus technology is used to simulate aerodynamic drag on their electric design.
More details on QARGOS can be found in the SOLIDWORKS Case Study.
This year, we were fortunate that Alok was also a judge for AAKRUTI 2024, our entrepreneurial student global design competition. In AAKRUTI, students used the 3DEXPERIENCE platform with both SOLIDWORKS and Abaqus technology. We provided our most advanced software tools for this prestigious, sustainable design competition.
Students, let us help you jump start your careers by learning new technology. SOLIDWORKS Simulation, contained in both SOLIDWORKS Education Edition and SOLIDWORKS Student Edition provides tools for stress, motion and fluid analysis. Open a part in SOLIDWORKS. Add-In SOLIDWORKS Simulation. Applied and theoretical tutorials are available to you from the Help menu..
Students without access to SOLIDWORKS in their schools, can purchase SOLIDWORKS tools from our SOLIDWORKS Student store.
Additional tools in advanced analysis and electromagnetics are the Abaqus Learning Edition and CST Studio Learning Edition. These student products are available as a free download.
Educators and Researchers can contact their SOLIDWORKS value added resellers for information on Abaqus and CST Studio for their classroom/lab and Research.
Abaqus Learning Edition
Abaqus Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software is used by engineers and scientists in a variety of industries to solve complex problems.
For students, the Abaqus Learning Edition is available on Windows platform only and supports structural models up to 1000 nodes. Documentation in HTML format makes this the perfect Abaqus learning tool. Download the ABAQUS Learning Edition from the SIMULIA Community.
CST Studio Suite Learning Edition
The CST Studio Suite Learning Edition introduces students to the world of electromagnetic simulation, making Maxwell’s equations easier to understand and optimizing components and systems.
Also included are tutorials showing how to develop each model. These examples are available in the SIMULIA Community. Download the CST Studio Suite Learning Edition from the SIMULIA Community.
Antenna Magus Learning Edition
Antenna Magus Learning Edition makes design capabilities for 12 popular antenna types available and can generate high quality simulation models of these designs. It can also be used to synthesize basic antenna arrays and includes a selection of useful utilities.
You can download the Antenna Magus Learning Edition free of charge from the SIMULIA Community.
As 2024 comes to a close, the SOLIDWORKS EDU team thanks our educators, students and researchers that use our software tools everyday. We also thank our Education Value Added Resellers that support educators and our student competitive teams.
Design well. Marie
