Team Maverick Pune India Soars at SAE AERO Design West 2025

This weekend, engineering students from around the world compete in  SAE Aero Design West, Van Nuys, CA. SOLIDWORKS is a proud sponsor of SAE International Collegiate design competitions, featuring SAE Aero Design, Formula SAE, Formula Electric, Baja, Clean Snowmobile and more, providing SOLIDWORKS desktop and SOLIDWORKS Cloud apps on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform through student team sponsorship.

In Pune, India, Dassault Systèmes engineers support Team Maverick Aero, from PIMPRI CHINCHWAD COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, PCCOE College. SOLIDWORKS EDU has been following Team Maverick for many years.

So when my colleague, Shubham Arora asked if I would be in LA, I said no – but our SOLIDWORKS education value added reseller, Chris Miller, H2I Group (Paton Group) will be there!

Team Maverick Aero builds on their success from last year. At SAE Aero Design West 2024 they achieved an overall global ranking of 10th among 75 international universities and a ranking of 4th in mission performance.

For their design and simulations, Team Maverick Aero uses SOLIDWORKS and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.  The technology and business platform is used for project planning, event timelines, and collaboration space for sharing SOLIDWORKS CAD and analysis data with the team.

Team Maverick Aero also uses the platform for advanced analysis with SIMULIA  technology  for CFD and FEA simulations.

We wish Team Maverick Aero and all SAE Aero Design teams the best.
