UAE Victory Team Wins World Powerboat Championship
Optimize speed. Increase efficiency. Just two of the many design parameters that contributed to Dubai’s Victory Team win in the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship in Abu Dhabi last week.
Victory Team had to successfully compete in four 2013 World Powerboat Class 1 races, Sanya, China, Istanbul, Turkey, Terracina, Italy and Abu Dhabi, UAE, attaining top score and the overall title on December 6.
The Victory Team power boat used SolidWorks to optimize its hull made of Kevlar fiber. All drive components and mechanical components were designed in SolidWorks that led to Victory Teams’ proprietary engine improvements that achieved 900 HP and 8500 RPM.
SolidWorks was also used to optimize different impeller designs based on water conditions and weather parameters to maximize speed safely and increase efficiency. The Victory Team’s boat can reach speeds of 250 km/h on water. I did the conversion for you – 134 knots, 155 mph, wicked fast!
Thank you to our reseller, Dalia Hussam El.Din, managing director of CAD CAM CIM, for the photos.
Congratulations to the Victory Team members, Executive Director Arif Saif Al Zafeen, Team Manager, Ragesh Elayadeth, Driver, A Al Zaffain and Throttleman, M.Al Marri. You have overcome so much to achieve this goal and continue to provide the story of perseverance and the role models for students.
Thank you for sharing with the SolidWorks Community. Marie
