FormLabs, a Small 3D Printer, a Big 3D Impact

FormLabs

FormLabs of Somerville made a big impact at the SolidWorks Press Event in Waltham this month.  Operations manager Sam Jacoby and his team used SolidWorks to design a small 3D Printer, named the Form 1 – at a low cost.

Sam and his team got their start at MIT Media Lab.  With a Kickstarter campaign of $2.9 million, these young engineers took their idea from school into a product for today.

FormLabs keeps the price down to both schools and industry by making and doing almost everything in their Somerville, Massachusetts, USA location – including the viscous liquid disposables.

We thank Sam and the FormLabs team for presenting and sharing with the SolidWorks community.  Marie
