Educator Events for a SolidWorks Summer
It’s the summer, schools out and that when instructors go to work. They go to class, conferences and learn about new technology and tools.
ASEE 2012
You will see the SolidWorks Education Team at the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) in San Antonio Texas.
June 9 is the K-12 Workshop sponsored by Dassault Systemes. There will be hands-on instruction in SolidWorks, DraftSight and 3DVIA Composer. All topics that are part of exploring engineering education for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math STEM) learning. To register go to:https://www.asee.org/conferences-and-events/conferences/k-12-workshop/2012
June 10 – June 13 is the annual ASEE Conference. You will see SolidWorks there talk about what's new in the 2012-2013 SolidWorks Education Edition and the new certification exam, Certified Sustainable Design Associate CSDA to help prepare your students in a very competitive and global job market. This year we are under the large Dassault Systemes booth and also with one of our local Texas Education Reseller, Learn Time. The DS booth will feature Simulia (Abaqus), CATIA, 3DVIA and the NAO robot by Aldebaran Robotics. I got to dance with NAO on stage at SolidWorks World. It's great to be an engineer especially when dancing involves physics and a cool robot.
The CAD Academy
Throughout the summer, the CAD Academy www.thecadacademy.com offers classes at technical conferences in Florida, Idaho, and Arizona. Check their website for dates and locations.
SolidWorks Education Resellers

Work – Life balance.
And as educators, make certain you take time for yourself and with your family and friends to get recharged! For me, I need to plan – actually schedule what I want and need to do with my family this summer. Since I left teaching full time, the summer feels shorter.
