BattleBots Arms Itself with SOLIDWORKS

If you’re not familiar with BattleBots®, you may want to look into it. Its small teams of engineers, designers, robot enthusiasts who get together and build robots built to destroy other robots. ABC is now into its second season of BattleBots (on every Thursday night this summer). Trust me, it’s VERY cool – I’m a huge fan! BattleBots and SOLIDWORKS go hand in hand, as those designing the robots are inventors, creators, and makers who all share one thing in common: they all love to create new products. We’re not exactly sure how many BattleBots teams use SOLIDWORKS to design their robots, but we ARE sure that at least four of them do. This year Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS sponsored four teams for Season 2 of BattleBots:

…and Team Brutus:

If you are a fan, as I am, I’m sure you are wondering how these teams come up with their crazy contraptions, how they got started, and how they decided on what weapons and armor to use.  As Season 2 goes on, we will uncover more about these teams, the BattleBots competition, and how they design their robots of destruction using SOLIDWORKS.

If you’re not familiar with BattleBots, and want to get up to speed, you can see all of the videos from last year (Season 1) here:

…and be sure to watch every Thursday night on ABC, and cheer on these teams!
