DraftSight passes the 2 million download mark
At SolidWorks World 2012 last month, CEO Bertrand Sicot talked at length about the size of the SolidWorks community. With 1.7 million licenses sold, it's getting big. But there was another number he threw out as well–one that was even bigger.
Since launching in 2010, DraftSight (the free 2D drafting application) has been on a tear. In July 2011, the team announced that DraftSight had been downloaded over one million times. And only seven months later, we learned that DraftSight has been downloaded over two million times. Congrats to the DraftSight team!
If you've never used DraftSight before, give it a try. DraftSight lets professional CAD users, students and educators create, edit and view DWG files. It runs on Windows®, Mac® and Linux, and best of all, it's 100% free!
