SolidWorks World 2011 Exhibitor Profile: DraftSight

We've been talking with a lot of SolidWorks partners lately, but did you know that other Dassault Systèmes products will also have representatives in the partner pavilion? Well, you do now. DraftSight, our new 2D drafting tool, will have its own booth in the Partner Pavilion at SolidWorks World this year, and today we hear from Aaron Kelly, senior director, DraftSight, Dassault Systèmes.

Tell us about DraftSight.
DraftSight is a free 2D CAD product from Dassault Systemes that takes just a few moments to download at DraftSight.com.  Whether you are a CAD professional, student or educator, DraftSight will let you create, edit and view DWG files.  DraftSight is currently available on multiple platforms including Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS, making working from home or on the go a breeze.

Through the DraftSight community (accessible via www.DraftSight.com) users have access to free support and an environment to interact, ask questions and share their opinions

Why should SolidWorks attendees visit your booth?
If you’re using DraftSight today, we’d love to talk to you about how the DraftSight Premium Support Pack can benefit your organization.  The Premium Support Pack offers telephone and email support, as well as a network license and access to DraftSight APIs.

If you’re not currently a DraftSight user and need a free 2D CAD product that creates, edits and views DWG files, come on over to the booth and check out DraftSight.  Or, simply download the product now at Draftsight.com.

How can your products or services help make a SolidWorks user’s life easier?
DraftSight was developed in response to interviews with SolidWorks customers that showed an overwhelming need for the ability to share DWG files.  If your organization is experiencing challenges with DWG file compatibility, DraftSight is a product you should consider.  As it is free, you have nothing to lose to try DraftSight; based on your 2D needs the product could save your company thousands of dollars.  DraftSight has excellent support options; free via the Community at DraftSight.com and the DraftSight Premium Pack, which offers value with a network license and access to DraftSight APIs.  If you’re already familiar with 2D CAD, chances are you’ll require little or no training.  If you need help, in addition to the DraftSight community, check out our free “Getting Started Guide” – downloadable at DraftSight.com.
