SOLIDWORKS Part Reviewer: Wire Belt Tutorial

Wire Belt: The Wire Profile Plane creates the wire size of the belt, the overall width of the belt, the number of segments of the belt, and the desired tolerance between each link in the belt. A final variable, belt spacing, is defined by dividing the overall belt length by the total number of segments. The layout sketch is converted into a new 3D sketch where fillets are added to the sketch. This keeps the relations easier to manage in the layout sketch. The wire profile is swept along the wire path to complete the wire. The wire body is mirrored across the right plane to complete one belt link. The Belt Layout sketch is selected from the Feature Manager. The number of instances is then linked to the global variable “Number of Wire Segments”.
