Congratulations to the Winners of the SOLIDWORKS xChallenge 2019!

We are excited to announce the winners of the SOLIDWORKS xChallenge 2019! FIRST® Robotics Competition Teams in the United States were invited to become 3D Creators and 3D Sculptors for the chance to win $10,000. Using xDesign and xShape on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, dozens of teams collaborated on the cloud and designed their own personal flying machines. We received 26 entries and a panel of SOLIDWORKS executives and employees judged them all and decided on the top three.

Steampunk 1577 Changes Lives with Electric Wheelchair Kit Designed in SOLIDWORKS

FIRST Robotics Competition Team Steampunk 1577 started the FRC revolution in Israel and their mission is to impact people who were not previously interested in STEM, and help them grow. They are one of the most influential FIRST teams in Israel, both with their robots and their community outreach projects. One of those projects, of which the team is incredibly proud, is their creation of a low-cost electric wheelchair kit, designed in SOLIDWORKS.

Michael devised a curriculum using Apps for Kids Classroom. Apps for Kids is an ecosystem of apps designed to take children as young as four through the engineering workflow, and excite them about design possibilities. The Classroom interface allows educators to create self-contained classes, where students can design and share their projects in one digital space. It allows for better organization and lets educators keep tabs on what their students are working on. And Michael put his students to work.
