Top SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE Tips for Students

Do you use SOLIDWORKS in class?  Are you using new SOLIDWORKS Cloud Apps for a Student Challenge?

You know SOLIDWORKS desktop.  SOLIDWORKS runs in a windows environment.  Both the education and student editions contain CAD, analysis and documentation tools.

Last year, we introduced our latest cloud apps for students.  The most popular apps are xDesign to create prismatic shapes, and xShape to create organic shapes, part of the 3DEXPERIENCE Works portfolio.  These apps run on any device including Macs and tablets.   They are all connected through are technology platform, called 3DEXPERIENCE.

3DEXPERIENCE Certification Center post your name with Linked In profile link on our certification community.  All schools on SOLIDWORKS subscription can apply to become an Academic Certification provider with school serial number and school email address.

SOLIDWORKS has many news resources and new offers for students.  Last year we introduced 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Students that provides access to new cloud app design technology.  So depending on your device you can use great design tools from SOLIDWORKS.

SOLIDWORKS Education Edition & Student Edition  –  desktop, requires Window 10

3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Students – hybrid

  •        xDesign, xShape, xApps – cloud only, works on Mac, Tablets and device
  •        3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS – hybrid, requires Windows 10, data stored in the cloud and locally, connects information to the 3DEXPERIENCE cloud apps.

And students if you are doing STEM outreach, try SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids.  It’s free. If you plan to work at a tech summer camp, your advisor can register for Apps for Kids classroom for free too.
