FIRST Global Challenge Dubai Inspires STEM Students and the World

Great challenges face our planet.  Today’s students will solve our biggest problems.  The FIRST Global Challenge is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Olympic – like competition that showcases students’  abilities to solve one of the 14 Grand Challenges of Engineering identified by the National Academy of Engineering,

The 2019 FIRST Global Challenge, held in Dubai, focuses attention on preserving our oceans and wildlife.  High School teams from 190 countries participated in this robotics competition.  FIRST Global and The Dubai Future Foundation gave students a life-changing experience as they prepare to be the future technology leaders for their countries.

No matter where we travel, we meet amazing students.  Such was the case at Amsterdam Schiphol airport.  Also going to Dubai on KLM was Team Denmark, FADDO.

As the winners of the Bhutan STEM Olympics, the Bhutan team represented their country well.

Our territory sales manager, Rafal Dabrowski, introduced us to this amazing city and even got to meet Dean Kamen!

Congratulations to Team USA, FTC 9879 Root Negative One, Springdale School District, Arkansas, winning a silver medal for the Katherine Johnson Award Engineering Documentation.

The understanding for clean water and animals in their habitat starts young.  With SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids, children, with the help of their parents, can sign up for free to create, design, and print their ideas and learn about habitats.

Thank you FIRST Global, for supporting STEM education and calling attention to the Global Challenges.

Thank you, The Dubai Future Foundation and hundreds of volunteers for hosting an impressive event.  Marie
