SOLIDWORKS Entrepreneur Marion Surgical Virtually Removes Kidney Stone

Marion Surgical’s mission is to capture and share the worlds’ surgical knowledge to improve patient outcomes. This entrepreneur team has built a virtual reality surgical simulator for urologists.  The results are connecting to big data.

Marian Surgical will be showing off their kidney stone removal prototype at the American Urology Conference (#aua17) in Boston from May 13-14th.

You can conduct surgery in the virtual environment with Dr. Rajiv K. Singal, Urologic Surgeon.

The entire hardware system was designed in SOLIDWORKS.  Marion Surgical is managing files with SOLIDWORKS PDM, using eDrawings for communications and SOLIDWORKS Simulation for Finite Element Analysis.

I caught up with one of the enthusiastic founder & CEO,  Ben Sainsbury before the conference, “We chose SOLIDWORKS because it is the market leader, all of our vendors are using it and the learning curve was a breeze for our engineers. The SOLIDWORKS Entrepreneurship program has allowed us to kit our team out with the very best tools so that we can build our company and products the right way out of the gate.”

In March, Marion Surgical team, Jessica Henry, Maciej Bartosz Lacki, & Ben, were assisted by Shawn Hall from our Value Aided Reseller, CADimensions, that introduced Ben to the SOLIDWORKS Entrepreneur Program for innovative young hardware start-ups.

You can visit with Marion Surgical in the Cook Medical 2024 booth at the American Urology Conference next week in Boston and see how virtual surgery gives surgeons a real operating experience,  or find out more information about Marion Surgical on their website, www.marionsurgical.com.

Thank you Ben for being a SOLIDWORKS Entrepreneur and sharing this innovative technology with our community.  Marie
