The Rise of Industry Inspired Curriculum

When student Spencer Sorgen saw 10 jobs posted on the job-board at Lanier Technical College (LTC) he knew that Mr. Darrell Fletcher’s classroom would be a place to prepare for the required skills to jump start his career. Spencer, Oun Chau and Victor Roman now gather to discuss and solve actual problems for local industries.

LTC looks to industry mentors from Edge Innovative Solutions, a product design firm and EpiGrid, a cloud-hosted engineering data management solution provider for enhancements to their curriculum. These innovative companies need skilled workers – so they are part of the learning experience too.

The results are working for industry, LTC and its students.
