Space Center Houston and Erin Winick Create 3D Printed Ornament with SOLIDWORKS for Galaxy of Lights

STEM Entrepreneur, Science Advocate, and founder of STEAM Power Media, Erin Winick Anthony, partnered with Space Center Houston to design an inspirational “mission patch” ornament for their Galaxy Lights Event presented by Reliant Energy.

Featured at the Galaxy Lights Kickoff, you too can download the model from the Space Center Houston website and get your own copy of ornament for your 3D Printer in .STL format.

Follow the complete journey from concept to kick off from Erin’s video.

Erin goes from concept sketches to the start of SOLIDWORKS design.

Then she makes some design changes and creates the final SOLIDWORKS model.

The output is 3D Printing in nested format.

If you’re in the Houston area, stop by and see the Galaxy Light Show.  Check out Erin’s Space Center Houston blog for site for her 3D model, info and coupon.

We first met Erin at SOLIDWORKS World 2017 when she was a student creating Science-inspired jewelry with her company, Sci Chic.

We also saw Erin center stage at 3DEXPERINECE World 2023 speaking to us about her experience being a communication engineer for the NASA Space Station. Thank you Erin for being an integral part of the SOLIDWORKS Community.

Erin continues to inspire us with her designs, creativity and stories.  Please share her 3D ornament with someone this holiday season.

Design well.  Marie
