Cam Mating and Analysis Help using SolidWorks

 

 

Check out this video covering the use of cam mates and the analysis of cams using SolidWorks Motion.  This video is part of the series of how SolidWorks can help you in school.  This video uses the cam created in the previous video.  From the motion analysis, results shown can include displacement, velocity, acceleration, and forces on the cam follower.  This information can be help to make sure that the cam was designed as planned and the forces will be adequate for the rest of the system before anything is even created.  I hope this is helpful in designing and analyzing cams.
