National Academy Foundation (NAF) and The STEM Academy Call for Proposals
For US High Schools:
The National Academy Foundation (NAF) and The STEM Academy have a unique opportunity to apply for funding from the National Science Foundation to develop fifteen new Academies of Engineering.
NAF and The STEM Academy are seeking proposals from schools interested in forming small learning communities (schools-within-schools or small stand-alone schools) for 9th – 12th grade students that are built around a broad technical core-curriculum which prepares students to pursue post-secondary engineering and engineering technology degree programs. If funded, NSF will support the curriculum costs from The STEM Academy and the Year of Planning fees from NAF. Implementation of this project will be dependent on securing funds from NSF or another agency.
Letters of intent are due April 15, 2011.
