Students utilize SolidWorks to prepare a model for their column. Students utilize internet research to prepare a brief flowchart for liquid chromatography. This schematic will include: detector cell; column; solvent reservoir; sample loop; and data recording/storage. Students utilize internet research to prepare a brief discussion of stationary and mobile phases and how the column and solvent achieve the separation of a mixture of components.
