What’s New in 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight R2024x FD02

In April, we rolled out the latest update of our cloud-connected roles, providing enhancements to help your daily workflow go faster and smoother. Today, I want to tell you about the latest enhancements to 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Premium and 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Mechanical R2024x functional delivery (FD) 02. This update enables you to work faster with large and complex drawings, customize your bill of materials, and includes support for macOS Sonoma and more!

Accessing XREF Files – open external references more quickly.

Do not get bogged down with complex projects that contain XREF files. Working with XREF files on large-scale projects is a lot faster. Whether you are working on a mechanical or architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) project with multiple drawing sheets and drawing files, loading XREF files is much smoother, giving you access to view and edit drawings more quickly.

Load drawings that contain external reference files, such as XREF files, more quickly.

Importing CATIA Drawings – experience more clarity when working with CATIA and DraftSight.

When importing CATIA drawings the graphical representations such as orientation, are now more consistent, and the CATIA drawing will be displayed more accurately in its original state.

You can also extract the view portals in the sheet tabs and view the descriptions of multiple drawing sheets.

You now have more options and flexibility when working with CATIA drawings in DraftSight.

BOM Property Selection – customize your bill of materials.

There’s a new BOM setting that enables you to select which properties to list and display in your bill of materials, part lists, and balloons.

This ability to modify your listings by selecting properties provides added control over your project documentation.

Customize your bill of materials, part lists, and balloons effortlessly with the ability to select which properties to list in your BOM.

DWG 2021 Support – work with file formats up to 2021.

Prior to this update DraftSight Mechanical would only recognize ODA libraries up to 2018. 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Mechanical will now recognize file formats up to 2021, so you can view, edit, and work with those file formats more effectively.

3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Mechanical now supports ODA libraries for mechanical entities that were saved between 2018 and 2021.

macOS Sonoma Support – use the latest macOS release on your Mac device.

If you use Mac products, we’ve got your covered. 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Premium now supports the latest macOS Sonoma release.

3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Premium supports the latest release of macOS.

That’s a wrap for this round.
