Product Team to Share Tips and Tricks on SOLIDWORKS Cloud Solutions at 3DEXPERIENCE World
If you’re attending 3DEXPERIENCE World this year and you’re interested in learning about our cloud solutions, you’re in luck. Let me introduce my friends on the SOLIDWORKS portfolio management team and their sessions on our cloud-connected and browser-based roles. These sessions will be hosted at the 2024 annual user event taking place February 11th -14th in Dallas, Texas.
Meet Priyanka Kanherkar, Product Portfolio Manager
Priyanka joined Dassault Systèmes in January of 2022 as a portfolio manager for the Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS role and other cloud solutions.
She has a master’s degree in aerospace engineering and more than five years of professional experience working in the design and data management domain. “I have been using SOLIDWORKS for six years now and absolutely love the tool,” said Priyanka.
Priyanka is originally from Mumbai, India and is currently based in Boston. When she is not working, she enjoys cooking, hiking and camping with her husband. She is also a trained Indian classical dancer. In the picture below, she is doing what she absolutely loves, dancing. This was from her brother’s wedding last year.
Last year was her first time attending 3DXPERIENCE World. When asked what she liked most about it, she said, “The wealth of knowledge at the event is unparalleled. There are multiple things, but I cannot stress enough the power of networking. I loved the fact that I met so many like-minded engineers who were eager to share their ideas and have beautiful engaging conversations.” Her advice for first timers is to network and learn all you can, and to wear comfortable shoes because you will be walking a lot! She said for those of you who have never attended, to do yourself a favor and attend.
You can catch Priyanka in her presentation, “Best Practices for Managing SOLIDWORKS Designs with 3DEXPERIENCE platform” Tuesday, February 13th from 10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. This session will cover best practices for using the 3DXPERIENCE platform to manage your SOLIDWORKS design projects. Topics include enhancing collaboration with external stakeholders, efficient utilization of SOLIDWORKS configurations, managing SOLIDWORKS properties and 3DEXPERIENCE Attributes, and more. She will also be taking part in the session, “PLM at Your Fingertips for SOLIDWORKS Users.”
Meet Soumitra Vadnerkar, Product Portfolio Manager
Soumitra Vadnerkar has been with Dassault Systèmes since 2022 and works with SOLIDWORKS Inspection and the SOLIDWORKS browser-based design and engineering roles.
Soumitra is from a small city called Nashik located on the western side of India, near Mumbai. He currently lives in Waltham, Mass., where SOLIDWORKS is headquartered.
He has master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and has been a CAD enthusiast since he started his academics. What he likes best about his job is the opportunity to help customers be more productive and efficient in their day-to-day design workflows using SOLIDWORKS, “my favorite” CAD modeling software.
When Soumitra is not working, you will likely find him online creating cool new CAD models, until his wife gets him to adventure out. He thrives on daring activities like skydiving, and according to his family and friends, he makes the best tacos though he said he’s not too keen on cooking.
What’s he looking forward to at World next month? He said he likes the general sessions, being inspired by the customer testimonials, and attending sessions related to productivity boosters, such as tips and tricks in design and CAD data management.
You can catch him in several sessions at the annual user event this year, including this hands-on session “Productivity Boosters in xSheetmetal and xFrame” Tuesday, February 12th from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This session covers the browser-based roles 3D SheetMetal Creator and 3D Structure and how you can use their xSheetmetal and xFrame apps to create sheet metal parts and structure frames more efficiently.
Soumitra’s other sessions include: “PLM at Your Fingertips for SOLIDWORKS Users” and “Getting Familiar with the New Age SOLIDWORKS Inspection.”
Meet Renan Ichi, Product Portfolio Manager
Renan Ichi has been with Dassault Systèmes since 2019 and is currently a product manager who works with SOLIDWORKS Visualize, SOLIDWORKS browser-based roles, and other solutions.
Renan is from São Paulo, Brazil, currently based in Boston, and has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah. He was inspired to study engineering because his dad and grandfather were both mechanical engineers, and he always had an interest in how things work. He also really likes art but realized it might be hard to make a living as an artist.
“When I got the opportunity to join SOLIDWORKS, the CAD software I had grown to love during school, I jumped on it,” he said. Plus, he still gets to explore his artistic side as a portfolio manager working with solutions such as the 3D Sculptor role for subdivision modeling. A fun fact his peers may not know is that Renan is into fashion and sewing, a hobby he picked up in high school. He also restores bicycles. In addition, he loves spending time with his wife and two kids cycling, hiking, camping, and traveling.
Join Renan for his presentation, “Take Your Designs to the Cloud (and Beyond)” Wednesday, February 14th from 2:45 p.m. -3:45 p.m. He will cover the benefits of the SOLIDWORKS browser-based design and engineering solutions and their respective apps. Particularly, he will show you workflows that help you get the most out of 3D Sculptor and the 3D Creator role for parametric modeling by leveraging the xShape and xDesign apps and the 3DXPERIENCE platform.
Meet Dan McGinn, Product Portfolio Manager
Dan joined Dassault Systèmes in 2019 after an internship with the company in 2018 and is a portfolio manager who works with the browser-based roles. He has been working with CAD software for more than 10 years and has experience with structure design, machine design, and robotics.
Dan is from Boston where he currently resides. He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and has always been interested in building things since he was young.
When he’s not working, you can find Dan traveling, skiing, backpacking, and surfboarding.
When asked about backpack camping tips and tricks, he recommended the Jetboil backpacking stove, which he said is ideal when hiking a lot of peaks, and when you don’t have much time for cooking. “It’s great for MRE’s [Meals Ready to Eat] because all you have to do is boil water.”
Dan teams up with Chris to present ““Elevating Design Efficiency with SOLIDWORKS Cloud – Parts, Assemblies & Drawings” Tuesday, February 13th from 1:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
He will also take part in the “3DEXPERIENCE R&D Meetup: A Chat with the SOLIDWORKS R&D Team” with Chris and others.
Meet Chris Pagliarini, Product Portfolio Manager
Chris Pagliarini has been with Dassault Systèmes since 2019 and held an internship with the company in 2016. He works primarily with the SOLIDWORKS browser-based roles.
Chris is from Boston where he currently resides, he has a degree in mechanical engineering, and has been a dedicated SOLIDWORKS user for more than 10 years. “SOLIDWORKS is a great design solution and won me over since I first laid eyes on it.” In fact, SOLIDWORKS is the reason he became an engineer. He discovered his passion for design and engineering after being introduced to SOLIDWORKS at a young age.
He has experience in several areas from research, machine design, sheet metal equipment packaging and enclosures, model-based definition, drawings, and aerospace and defense design. During his free time, he enjoys exploring new technology, and staying active indoors and outdoors.
“I love to stay busy and spend time outdoors as much as possible. You can find me travelling, golfing, skiing, or boating with friends. When the weather doesn’t cooperate, I spend my time drawing, playing guitar or hanging out with friends and family.” Chris is pictured below touring the landscape in Italy.
Catch up with Chris at World during his sessions, including “Breaking the Barrier Between 2D & 3D with Manufacturing Definition Creator” Wednesday, February 14th from 2:45 p.m. -3-45 p.m. In this session, Chris will cover the Manufacturing Definition Creator role and its xDrawing app and provide an overview of the 2D and 3D definition capabilities, how to use them, tips and tricks, and most importantly how to benefit from the single source of truth between model-based definition (MBD) and drawings. Chris will also be taking part in the session, “Elevating Design Efficiency with SOLIDWORKS Cloud – Parts, Assemblies & Drawings” on Tuesday, February 13th from 1:15 p.m.- 2:15 p.m. and the “3DEXPERIENCE R&D Meetup: A Chat with the SOLIDWORKS R&D Team” on Monday, February 12th from 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
