Sneak Peek: 15 Features coming in SOLIDWORKS 2015 – Selection Sets

This year, during the 15 days prior to the release of SOLIDWORKS 2015 we’re taking a look at 15 of our favorite new features coming in this feature packed release. Selection Sets enable the capture of important information, reducing repetitive selection operations during modelling, assembly, or simulation setup. Selection Sets are saved in the SOLIDWORKS file and are accessed from the FeatureManager. They can include geometry, components, or drawing items.
For commonly selected features, Selection Sets save a lot of time. By adding Selection Sets of faces or edges to standard parts and renaming them logically, mating components together becomes a whole lot easier. Simulation often requires the selection of multiple faces, especially in Flow Simulation. Selection Sets make this process easier by allowing pre-selection of faces required to setup your simulation.
