Calendar Dial: This is a fully detailed production part with over a hundred features. Learn about how to use a Layout sketch to plan your work and work your plan. Many techniques are demonstrated in this model. Multi-body part design creates three solids representing the different moving parts of the dial. Hybrid modeling is shown with surface geometry being used to cut solid model bodies. There are examples of surface modeling including: cuts with surfaces, surface lofts, filled surfaces, surface revolves, offset surfaces and surface untrims. Other more rare solid features include: helical threads, revolve and swept cuts, a thin cut, and combines using the subtract option. Circular patterns help create several multi-feature patterns. Download this part to learn about using Layout sketches and Hybrid Modeling.
