SOLIDWORKS Education Advocate – Alejandro De Luna Shares 10 Years+ of Poza Rica ITS Robotics Club

Alejandro De Luna is a SOLIDWORKS Champion, 3DEXPERIENCE Student Champion, and Certified SOLIDWORKS Expert (CSWE). As a mechanical engineer with manufacturing experience, Alejandro is also an advisor for the Poza Rica ITS Robotics Club of Mexico, his alma mater, Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Poza Rica.

Alejandro joined the club as a student, thanks to his friend, Gabriel. Founded more than 10 years ago, these students have traveled far to compete in Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Japan, and Romania.

Thanks to Alejandro, the ITS Robotics Club uses SOLIDWORKS to design their competitive robots.

Competition categories include: mega sumo, insects, humanoids, line followers and war robots.

 

With the SOLIDWORKS Student Team Sponsorship, ever team member gets a copy of SOLIDWORKS.

Alejandro stated, “To create our competition robots, we want accuracy and precision in our designs so that everything works correctly, as well as always looking for innovation in our designs and SOLIDWORKS is the one for this, as well as CAM and SIMULATION tools that help us.”

The team also get advice from Alejandro, who has achieved Certified SOLIDWORKS Expert (CSWE) status, our highest certification. Alejandro has been using SOLIDWORKS for 5 years and when combined with his engineering and manufacturing skills, you can see why he is truly a champion in the SOLIDWORKS community.

As a 3DEXPERIENCE Student Champion, Alejandro knows the importance of other team building skills such as collaboration, management, documentation and using the SOLIDWORKS model beyond 3D CAD.
