What’s New in 3D Motion Creator R2025x GA

The latest update to 3D Motion Creator is here. It includes some very useful enhancements, including the ability to apply state sets to your models on the fly, a new interference results report, and more!

3D Motion Creator is a fully browser-based solution that enables you to easily perform kinematic and dynamic motion studies and analysis of your assemblies. Lets take a look at what’s new in the R2025x general availability (GA) update.

Reuse Mechanical State Sets from the Kinematics Player– improve model setup efficiency.

You now can store and apply the state of a mechanism from the Kinematics Player. From the Kinematics Player, there is a new option to create a state-set element that records the position of bodies in a mechanism. The state sets will appear in the DesignManager Feature Tree, and you can apply them to your models anytime you need them.

Interference Results Report – easily view and address clashes with the new collision report table.

You can use the Interference Probe to check clashes between moving mechanisms and see a live animation of the clashes. In this update, we’ve added an Interference Probe Report under the Results tab on the toolbar that records the time(s) and/or instances of the clash so you can easily view clashes and make the necessary design changes.

Body Mass Properties – easily change mechanism mass properties to switch between concept geometry and detailed design.

Define and edit bodies by changing the source of the mass of the body from reference products and attached products. New options under Mass in the Body menu include:

  •       All products with a mass: From reference product and attached products with active ‘Consider Mass’ option.
  •       Only reference product: Only from reference product; ignore attached products.
  •       Attached products with a mass: Only from attached products with active ‘Consider Mass’ option; ignore reference product.
  •       Override mass property values: Override the mass properties manually.

Damper Motion Element – add damper elements for realistic dynamic motion analysis.

A new Damper command allows you to add a damping effect and tweak the value to test various states. For instance, you can add a damper on two cylindrical faces of a mechanical system, such as airplane wheels, to mimic making a landing smoother by better absorbing the shock impact.

That’s a wrap for this year. I wish you and your families a happy holiday season. Stay tuned for functional delivery (FD) enhancements next year!
