This One Cracked Me Up

Lila Theis, former SASUG group leader and SWUGN Lifetime Achievement award recipient, sent a note to her colleagues referring to an article I wrote for Cadalyst on the SolidWorks 2008 interface.  The next day I received an email from another good friend:

I haven’t read your article yet; I don’t know what the changes are, but I know I don’t like them.  What were you people thinking?!
-H

To know "-H" is to really appreciate her dry sense of humor, and this simple one-line message made me laugh out loud.  This morning, I received another email:

I’ve been using SolidWorks 2008 over the past three weeks…it’s been kinda fun.
-H

That’s high praise indeed from -H.

Now that the DVD’s have shipped, and SolidWorks users are starting to install and use SolidWorks 2008 in production, I’ve seen similar "reversals" in opinion.  From the initial shock of the massive UI overhaul, to high acceptance of the changes, SolidWorks users are rapidly adapting and learning to be far more productive with SolidWorks 2008.
