SOLIDWORKS Part Reviewer: Football Tutorial

Football: Just in time for the Super Bowl, we got this model ready to go with no deflategate controversy here.

This fun multi-body model has some uncommon but powerful features included. There are two simple examples of curved driven patterns. There is also a “deform” feature using the “Surface push” option to slightly deflate the ball.

Other features in the model include: sweeps, split line curves, reference axis, circular patterns, one thicken, and a revolved surface. There is also a split and a wrap feature in the model. One sketch picture is used to help create some of the upper geometry. This part has two configurations, one with the football geometry and one with a flat spot added to the ball.
