IQS Barcelona – ITQ Munich – Multidisciplinary Engineering Teams Innovate with SOLIDWORKS Motion
Students from IQS, Barcelona, Spain, together with students from other Universities have been working since summer 2014 on the multidisciplinary Project Mi5. Project Mi5. the initiative of Dr. Stetter, ITQ. Munich, Germany, brings together world class engineering students. Mi5 stands for 5 “I’s”: Innovative, Interdisciplinary, International, Iterative and Incremental. The aim of the project is to develop a showcase of an industrial process to be shown on an international fair.
Last year, IQS students Jordi Mas and Bernat Cortés and students from ITQ-Germany began to develop an integrated team working with SOLIDWORKS Motion to show the possibilities to program an XTS chain for the creation of a module that made biscuits/cookies with several options of fillings on demand at the fair. Insert this link into your browser to see motion (https://projectmi5.com/live/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/XTS_Simulation.mp4). All modules were shown at Hannover Trade Fair
Currently IQS Master students Marc Vives and Alex Alsina and 3rd level student Cristina Mas are working on several proposals of new modules to integrate with other teams. Such proposals are placed on the website developed by students:
Frozen Yogurt – (Marie’s favorite):
Olives and cheese on a stick
Candy stick:
Cocktail
Current proposal from IQS is to draw all components on SOLIDWORKS and integrate the programming of PLC with Virtual Univers Pro.
Thank you Andrés-Amador García Granada, IQS Barcelona for sharing with the SolidWorks Community. Marie
