Unicycle: This is an assembly model of a Unicycle. It is modeled to convey an appearance that could be used to sell the idea to a user or a bike manufacture. The crankshaft and wheel can be turned and the pedals rotate. The fork can rotate and the seat post can be moved through its range using a limit distance mate. The individual parts show a great deal of visual detail but are lacking in fine details like bearings and fasteners or clamps. This was done to simplify the models. The wheel is very detailed but does not have a tube or a stem since they are not appearance factors. The fork part has an example of sweep and couple of boundary features to create a shaped fork extension. The wheel shows how to move and pattern solid bodies.
Other features used in the wheel part include: Sweeps, Revolves, Move/Copy Body and Split Line. The decision to merge or not merge solid bodies are discussed within the parts. Download this model to learn some approaches to convey a functioning mechanism that has visual appeal and can be used to market an idea.
