The Best Way to Learn Engineering with Jeremy Fielding & Wichita State University Formula SAE Team
Jeremy Fielding is an invertor, teacher and influencer with a simple goal, “Draw people to mechanical engineering with amazing projects, inspire them with ideas, then teach them how to do it.” We are fortunate to work with Jeremy on projects such as Magic Wheelchair and his latest inspirational visit to National Institution for Aviation Research (NIAR), Wichita State University.
Jeremy created a fantastic video on NIAR robotics. Dassault Systemes, in partnership with Wichita State University has a 3DEXPERIENCE Research Center on campus, featuring our latest technology supporting our customers. The campus showcases our technology with brands CATIA, DELMIA, SOLIDWORKS, and the 3DEXPERIENCE Works Portfolio.
Thanks to my colleague, Matthew Clegg, Jeremy also got to visit with the Formula SAE team from Wichita State University, Shocker Racing
We have seen this team in compete and perform at Michigan Speedway at a world wide level. The competition is intense. It is truly an engineer’s competition.
Jeremy interview team SAE lead, Dane Moorhead to go through the process of designing, building, testing and racing a formula car in competition. Other team members talk on composites and aerodynamics and most of all the reality that FSAE competition brings to an engineering curriculum. The answers are not in the back of the book.
We appreciate Shocker Racing for taking time out of their summer vacation to talk to Jeremy about Formula SAE and their car.
On behalf of the SOLIDWORKS EDU team, thank you Jeremy for inspiring us and drawing us to mechanical engineering with amazing projects on your YouTube channel.
SOLIDWORKS sponsors collegiate Formula SAE Racing teams and other competitive teams in regional, national and international competition – for free. We provide access to SOLIDWORKS and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for cloud storage, sharing, PLM and Simulation with Abaqus and Electromagnetics with the CST Suite.
