Hanen: I was born in Tunisia; I had the privilege of growing up in Paris, where my early years were spent there. I feel fortunate for this experience, which was made possible by my father’s career as a diplomat.

Afterwards, I returned to Tunisia and attended “SADIKI SCHOOL” where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Science with honors. In 2014, I enrolled in the “ESAT Aviation University “where i completed a two-year Preparatory Class (PT) program. Thereafter, I pursued my education at “Polytechnic International University”, where I graduated as an Mechatronics Engineer.

A year ago,  I moved to Germany, and now I’m learning German so I can be employed here.

My life has been greatly influenced by a number of people. The first and foremost were my family members, who instilled in me the belief that I could achieve anything I set my mind to.

In addition to my family, I am immensely grateful for the educators who played a crucial role in shaping my life. Among them, “Anissa el Hadhri”, my mathematics teacher, stood out for her unwavering support and guidance. “Marouane Ayech”, my mentor, also had a profound impact on me, helping me to develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

“Yamen Maalej”, my teacher, deserves special mention for his dedication to his craft and his ability to inspire his students to reach their full potential.

The director of the aviation school “AMEN HEDDA BEN AMARA”, she was able to realize my dream, she allowed me to fly an airplane with Airline Flight Academy (AFA).  Thanks to her, I liked the field of aviation and my first project in SolidWorks was to design a turbo for an aircraft.

Lastly, I would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Seifeddine Nafoussi, my supervisor, for his invaluable guidance in helping me comprehend the extensive scope of the API. This understanding has greatly facilitated my ability to automate numerous macros with SOLIDWORKS. As a result, I look forward to sharing my new macros with the community in the near future.

Together, these individuals have left an indelible mark on my life and have helped me to become the person I am today.

Marie: The teachers in your life are truly inspirational.  How old were you when you started to learn SOLIDWORKS?

Hanen: At the age of 21, while pursuing my studies at Polytechnic International University, I was introduced to SOLIDWORKS and earned my first CSWA Certificate.

This pivotal experience sparked a passion within me for the field of Mechatronics.  Today, I am 27 years old and I continue to learn and share my knowledge with many engineers, peers and students in the 3DEXPERIENCE and SOLIDWORKS community.

Marie: How were you introduced to SOLIDWORKS?  Through class, a teacher? A mentor?

Hanen: I am grateful to “Mrs. Imen Kacem”, the director of Polytech and “Mr. Wajdi Zaafrane”, the head of the Mechatronics department in Polytechnic, for providing my class with the opportunity to develop our skills and knowledge with SOLIDWORKS. They arranged a lot of training session for us.

So, I have been mentored by the distinguished Elite “Ahmed Brahem“. He has had a positive impact on my SOLIDWORKS skills.  I vividly recall expressing to him during our first class that I aspired to one day become renowned worldwide with the SOLIDWORKS Community.

Marie: You just won Model Mania Cloud Challenge 2023 at 3DEXPERIENCE World – tell us something about this competition?

Hanen: This year Model Mania SOLIDWORKS Cloud Challenge is all about Music City!

Participants should  show off their modeling skills using the 3D Creator (xDesign app) and 3D Sculptor (xShape app) design roles on the cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

And then experts will select the top three submissions based on 4 Judging criteria. The Design has to be creative, complex, with a good presentation because all is based in single image post and the important Judging criteria has to be with the Nashville theme.

I came up with an idea for the Challenge, which involves creating a coffee-themed model for Nashville.

For the design, I have incorporated a violin shape into the door for a unique look. Additionally, I have modeled the tables to feature the letter “N” as an abbreviation for Nashville.

Furthermore, I aimed to enhance the cultural significance of ancient and modern music by incorporating the gramophone into the design to add aesthetic value.

I am excited to won the first place in the Challenge.

Seeing my name showcased at the 3DEXPERIENCE World 2023 in Nashville left me in disbelief, it’s a feeling that is difficult to put into words.

Marie:  Hanen, I have seen your project on our communities and Linked-In.  Can you share with us some of your favorite projects?

Hanen: Certainly. First let’s look at NASA’s Orion spacecraft.

The advanced technology utilized by NASA left a lasting impression on me, prompting me to undertake the design of the ORION spacecraft in SOLIDWORKS.

NASA’s Orion spacecraft is designed to take humans further than they have ever traveled before. Orion will serve as an exploration vehicle that will carry crews into space, provide emergency abort capability, support crews during space travel, and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities.

I created the NASA ORION spacecraft, consisting of 27 distinct components and a total of 312 unique features.

I single-handedly accomplished the tasks of designing, rendering, and animating the project. Additionally, I developed a realistic space environment to enhance the overall visual impact. Only the author’s voice credit by the NASA community.

I completed the project within a span of 5 days, dedicating 10 hours per day to the task.

This is a testament to what it means to be a true SOLIDWORKS Champion.

I am deeply passionate about this project and extend my gratitude to SOLIDWORKS for enabling me to design ORION.
