The SOLIDWORKS User Group Network (SWUGN)

The SOLIDWORKS User Group Network is an independently run user group of professionals, educators and students that get together to share their passion for design. There are hundreds of users group globally.

SWUGN also runs SLUGME – the largest/longest user group around the world. #SLUGME7 occurs later this summer tentative September 10, 2022.

SWUGN supports 3DEXPERIENCE World, Feb 12 – Feb 15, 2023, featuring the latest innovations in design and engineering using tools like SOLIDWORKS and web-based apps like xDesign and xShape.

The SOLIDWORKS Champions Program

To recognize the students and industry professional that go above and beyond helping other SOLIDWORKS users, the SOLIDWORKS Champions Program was created. Are you that person? Review the criteria and fill out the Champions application.

Did you graduate an loose access to SOLIDWORKS software? Do you want to learn our latest cloud app technology? Do you realize you need to have SOLIDWORKS based skills to get a job? Until July 31, 2022, we allow all students that recently graduated to purchase our student software offers.

Which offer is right for you?

SOLIDWORKS Cloud CAD apps

If you have a Chrome book, MAC, Tablet, then SOLIDWORKS Cloud CAD apps are available in 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Students .

The SOLIDWORKS Cloud CAD apps, xDesign, xShape, xFrame, xMold, xSheetMetal, xDefine, are 100% browser based.

SOLIDWORKS Connected app

If you have a PC (windows native/64bit), the SOLIDWORKS Connected app is also included with 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Students .

The SOLIDWORKS Connected App allows you to create parts, assemblies, and drawings in the SOLIDWORKS user interface and stores model data on the cloud or to your PC. A web connection is required. (Note: You cannot run SOLIDWORKS Connected App and SOLIDWORKS desktop on the same PC.)

The 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Student offer contains both SOLIDWORKS Cloud CAD apps (Cloud) and SOLIDWORKS Connector app (Desktop).

The 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Students offer provides you access to our student community, learning content, and certifications to increase your skill sets for the job market.

SOLIDWORKS Student Edition (desktop)

If you have a PC and are taking a summer class with no access to a school lab, then finish up your classes with SOLIDWORKS desktop. The SOLIDWORKS Student Edition is based on the same license used at your school.

If you do not have strong internet access, SOLIDWORKS Student Edition only requires web access at time of installation.

Learning content is available on MySolidWorks.com. Use your SOLIDWORKS Student Edition serial number to gain access.
