Easter Egg Challenge with SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids

As an educator, you help your students learn and unleash their creativity. So what about having your students discover the basics of 3D design while having fun?  Good news! The SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids #EasterEgg Challenge is here.

Apps for Kids is a free web-based collection of apps — Shape It, Style It, Mech It, Capture It, Show It, Print It—, available for tablets and other mobile devices. Apps for Kids can inspire children from ages 4 to 12 to learning the concepts of 3D design and engineering in a fun, exciting, and engaging way.

 

Apps For Kids exists in two different ways: public for kids at home, and classroom for schools, teachers and mentors in order to manage Apps for Kids accounts, classes, curriculum and creations on a larger scale. This should greatly simplify implementation in the classroom and offer a great solution for groups of students! To help get you started we have provided sample lessons and instructional videos like the one we created for this challenge:

You can even have your classroom participating in the #EasterEgg Challenge and ‘competing’ with your peers by sharing your students’ best designs on social media!

To participate, simply sign up for Apps for Kids Classroom, create your classroom account and get the kids start creating straight away. When their design is finished, share them on social media mentioning #EasterEgg and #SWA4K in your posts.
