The drive from École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS) in Montreal to Baja SAE East in Pittburg, Kansas is 1418 miles,(2282km) and 21 hrs. The drive takes longer when you are pulling a trailer with your Baja vehicle.
This week ETS placed 3rd in Polaris Design, 2nd in Honda R&D Overall Dynamics Award, and 6th Briggs and Stratton Overall Award.
ETS gave the SolidWorks EDU team these plaques to say “thank you” to SolidWorks. They will be proudly hung in Dassault Systemes Corporate North American HQ in Waltham, MA.
ETS wrote the “thank you” letter below to PBI CADCAM:
Hello Mrs. Giroux (sales rep from PBI),
It gives me great pleasure to give you our sincere thanks on behalf of the entire Baja team at ETS. In essence, thanks to the support given to us by PBI, it was possible for the team to participate in 3 SAE competitions, and to finish in good company: Cornell, Oregon State & RIT.
It’s important for me to emphasize the hours of SolidWorks training furnished by PBI were of utmost importance, and was pivotal in helping the team place 4th in Bellingham & Cookeville. The 3rd & final competition was in Rochester, where we finished 6th (2nd internationally).
Thanks to your gift, it was possible to create prototypes which permitted us to same time making optimized parts for the car- saving money.
In closing, allow me to reiterate that none of this would have been possible without you. You have been a great part of each trophy we have earned for Canada. Big thanks… see you in TX or KS or IL. See you at the paddocks…
Thank you PBI CADCAM for helping out these students and sharing their story. PBI CADCAM has made a difference to the ETS Baja team and the ETS students that use SOLIDWORKS to design amazing products. Marie
