Join a Global Design Initiative: Creating Furniture with SOLIDWORKS xApps

If we imagine, can we really make it happen? I do believe so. The human imagination if a very powerful thing.

A great example of this power is from Turkey. Rıdvan Polat, a SOLIDWORKS Champion, reached out to me months ago. He said he was planning to create his dream house with tools in the 3DEXPERIENCE Works portfolio and SOLIDWORKS solutions, then share it with other users worldwide, and complete the house and its furniture altogether. So his dream was an international one!

My first reaction was “absolutely! Why you are waiting? Let’s how the world how to design a big house and collaborate with other users.”

He used the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and SOLIDWORKS to design his dream home and SOLIDWORKS xApps (xDesign, xShape, xFrame, etc.) to create the furnishings inside. While doing this project, he dreamt of starting a global design movement and working with individuals from various towns and even foreign nations.

The goal is to reach the designers who want to be involved in this project by creating the furniture of their dreams, communicating with them via 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, and making this house an internationally designed one.

Ridvan is working for TEKYAZ, a SOLIDWORKS reseller in Turkey, that works closely with engineering students at local schools. Ridvan has already started this initiative with the students, the team is using SOLIDWORKS xApps to create the furniture of their dreams that will be installed in the home.

Using SOLIDWORKS Connected, Ridvan installed this furniture inside the house. Ridvan rendered his ideal house in SOLIDWORKS Visualize and animated it to add additional realism with the aid of teammate Murat Şen.
