Get a Preview of the 3DEXPERIENCE World 2022 Shop Floor

Over the last several years, one of the growing additions to the 3DEXPERIENCE World Playground has been the shop floor.  It has been a place where attendees can gather to learn about manufacturing processes and see the newest trends in CNC and automation in action.

Let’s briefly talk about what you will see when you enter the shop floor area this year.

Automation starts before anything is cut or produced.  In the front office area of the shop floor, attendees will get to see and provide feedback on a new business operations capability found in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.  This new cloud-based application will allow companies to run their businesses from anywhere at any time.

Next are two production machines from Doosan Machine Tools.  With a  4+1 mill and a nine-axis Mill/turn lathe, you won’t want to miss the speed at which parts can be made through traditional subtractive manufacturing processes.

Tormach will be showcasing some prototype components on the 1100mx mill, and this year, you will experience some fabrication cutting with Tormach’s new CNC plasma.  This is a truly amazing machine to allow anyone to fabricate high-quality components.

Along with the 1100mx mill and Plasma, Tormach will be hosting CNC 101 sessions on the Shop Floor to allow attendees to get some basic CNC training while at the event.  Stay tuned for session times.

Automation isn’t competitive in today’s manufacturing world without some robotics.  There will be two stations for robotics this year; the first one is welding a control arm for the F9 car and the virtual twin to program the cell with DELMIA Robotics.  The second station will be a Cobot that will allow attendee interaction during the show.  If you want to learn more about automation and robotics, this is the place to be as we will have people on hand to answer questions from our Robotics team and Wichita State Lab.

The last area of focus on the shop floor is communication.  Any company looking to automate has to have constant and clear communication between all the teams.  Throughout the shop floor, there will be touch screen monitors showcasing 3DLean and how it can improve communication and collaboration between an entire organization, whether in person or remotely.
