Explore the 3DEXPERIENCE Playground at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2020

If you will be attending 3DEXPERIENCE World, be sure to visit the 3DEXPERIENCE Playground, the official Exposition area for the event. It is the largest worldwide display of SOLIDWORKS partner solutions under one roof. The 3DEXPERIENCE Playground will showcase the latest and greatest products and services, while providing a unique opportunity to network with partners, resellers and other users.

As part of 3DEXPERIENCE World, partners will have the opportunity to showcase their amazing innovations and experiences in the 3DEXPERIENCE Playground. The area will be set up into four zones, each of which are representative of the end-to-end capabilities provided by Dassault Systèmes and its partners in the following domains:

Design – Turn your ideas into reality with the authentic designer experience

Simulate – Reveal the world we live in with realistic simulation and visualization technology

Manufacture – Make it happen with end-to-end manufacturing and ERP solutions

Plan – Plan, manage and optimize for success with collaborative product and business applications

When it comes to innovations the 3DEXPERIENCE Playground is where the action will be. Distributed throughout the various zones you will find activations such as the Dassault Systèmes booth, the 3DEXPERIENCE for Good area, a variety of experiential displays, the SOLIDWORKS Live Studio, and ways to win cool prizes. You won’t want to miss it!

Let’s break down what you’ll see in each area of the 3DEXPERIENCE Playground:

Dassault Systèmes booth

Stop by the Dassault Systèmes booth to see our featured product demo that tells the Dassault Systèmes story through breadth, depth and power of our multiple brands and solutions.

3DEXPERIENCE for Good

This year at 3DEXPERIENCE World, we are humbled to be able to change the world directly for those who need it most. We are featuring the 3DEXPERIENCE for Good Hackathon and other interactive experiences that pull together the most passionate minds to do GOOD.

There are over 12 million humans affected by forearm amputations all over the world. We would like your help to re-imagine what the next chapter of this story looks like, incorporating modern tools to improve the design of the prosthetic hand while satisfying a variety of constraints. The hands will go to the Helping Hands Project, a charity that delivers prosthetic hands to end-users in third-world countries at zero cost to the recipient.

Day One

Teams will present their newly designed prosthetic hands and the winning team will be selected based on the most aesthetic appeal, mechanical elements, scalability, and human connection. Come cheer for the best design and vote for your favorite.

Day Two

Want to do GOOD? Come to the Helping Hands Project workshop where you can build a prosthetic hand in about an hour. All prosthetic hands build during the workshop will be donated to Helping Hands Project for distribution.

Day Three

Take part in the first-ever Every Kid Gets a Robot (EKGAR) Workshop, in which people will work in groups of three to assembly a robot. The goal of the workshop is to fuel STEM education in the local community, courtesy of Danielle Boyer’s EKGAR program. Learn more about Danielle in this Born to Design Podcast.

Experiential Displays:

The Shop Floor

Get an interactive experience of the design-through-manufacturing process.  See how companies are designing and manufacturing for profit in today’s fast-paced and changing world. From 3D scanning to CNC machining and inspection, see how partners like Creaform, Haas, Matsuura, and Tormach can be used together directly from your 3D design. Read more about the live Shop Floor here.

The XR Zone

This experiential space is where engineers, designers, entrepreneurs, and CAD and Visualization professionals can test drive leading-edge innovations in Augmented and Virtual Reality for:

• Training users how to assemble or immersively interact with and operate products

• Improving internal and external design reviews collaboratively

• Selling designs more effectively with immersive experiences

Mobile Fab Lab

The Mobile Fab Lab is a computer-controlled design and machining set-up housed in a trailer. Brent Richardson oversees Fab Lab Houston’s stationary and Mobile Fab Lab located at BakerRipley community center on the north side of Houston. Brent is bringing not only the creative force of his Mobile Fab Lab to the event, but he will also engage you, the attendees, in a collaborative, immersive project to create something truly amazing. This will be in pursuit of the theme of 3DEXPERIENCE World 2020 – A New Dimension with Experience!

Education Zone

What does the future of 3D design look like? Come marvel at the variety of versatile products designed in SOLIDWORKS from the world of higher learning—from high schools to university student engineering programs. This area will feature student competition teams from the greater Nashville area and India.

SOLIDWORKS Live Studio

Coming to you LIVE from 3DEXPERIENCE Playground, the SOLIDWORKS team will be streaming live to YouTube and Facebook as well as actively recording podcasts for our Born to Design series.  What can you expect to see and hear? For both live stream and podcasts, we’ll be capturing customer stories, keynote interviews, new technologies, and exciting news, all from 3DEXPERIENCE World. Stop by and check us out. Even better, if you have a story you’d like to share, we’d love to hear it!

Play and Win!

Take part in some of the challenges that we are offering – and have fun while you’re at it.

Model Mania Challenge

Back for its 21st year, Model Mania pits user against user and gives you a chance to display your talents to the greater SOLIDWORKS community.  At 3DEXPERIENCE World 2020 the SOLIDWORKS Model Mania Challenge is expanding.  The traditional contest of speed and accuracy to model, change, and analyze a design remains the same.  New for 2020, users can also participate in a design challenge with 3DEXPERIENCE products, xDesign and xShape, and post their entries to the 3DEXPERIENCE World SWYM Community.  Prizes will be awarded in both contests and winners will be announced at the SOLIDWORKS LIVE Studio during the 12:30 PM session on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.
