Become Certified in Sustainable Design

SWSustainability1Each year the month of April brings about times of change. For those in the northern hemisphere, it signals the end of winter, and for those below the equator, it means the end of summer. Globally it also signifies the arrival of Earth Day on April 22nd, a day that is meant to honor the Earth and the concept of peace.

Companies are continually aiming to produce more eco-friendly products year after year. To aid those companies in their design process, SOLIDWORKS Sustainability provides designers with the tools they need to help measure the environmental impact of the products they design. With SOLIDWORKS Sustainability designers can measure the impacts their products will have in the following areas:

  • Air Acidification
  • Carbon Footprint
  • Total Energy Consumed
  • Water Eutrophication

These tools aid in the design process before any actual development is started to help insure the most earth friendly results possible.

The SOLIDWORKS Certification Program offers the Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate-Sustainable Design exam as a way for designers to prove their knowledge in not only the use of the Sustainable Design product, but also their knowledge of Sustainable Deign theory and practices.

To honor Earth Day celebrations around the world, we’re reducing the cost of the Sustainability exam to $19.95 USD for the entire month of April 2015. For more information visit the CSWA-SD page. There you will find info on how to purchase the exam, and on how to study for the exam.
